Responsibilities
  • Perform Orthopedic surgical procedures with precision and care, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.
  • Lead pre‑operative and post‑operative consultations, providing clear, empathetic communication to patients and their families.
  • Stay abreast of the latest surgical techniques and technologies, integrating them into practice to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss case studies, share insights, and contribute to the collective knowledge of the team.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of all surgical procedures and patient interactions, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Qualifications
  • Must have a valid and current Texas Medical Board issued Surgical Assistant License or a valid and current Certification from a recognized accrediting body such as the American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA) or the National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA).
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Orthopedic surgical first assisting in a hospital or an outpatient surgical center.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proficient medical terminology with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in various surgical procedures such as Total Knee Arthroplasty/Replacement – Mako Robot, Distal Radius ORIF, Radial Shaft ORIF, and Total Hip Arthroplasty.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Foreign MDs must pass TOEFL Test.
  • Solid communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use a computer to complete administrative tasks.
  • Must have completed an accredited medical assisting program and a supervised externship in a healthcare setting.
  • High school diploma or GED.
