Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of Surgical Assistant Program is required.
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) certification is preferred/required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving per policy.
• Assists as first or second assistant on cases and maintains sterile technique.
• Monitors instruments, counts sponges/sharps, and handles specimens per policy.
