Job summary

CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking an Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join a hospital-employed group. The role provides comprehensive inpatient care under physician supervision and opportunities to lead patient management from exams to treatment planning.

You will perform histories, exams, and orders, diagnose and manage chronic conditions, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality care, with a competitive base salary and full benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing studies.
  • 3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting.
  • 1-3 years previous experience as a NP in an acute or primary care setting or equivalent RN experience.
  • Licensed as an RN in the state of TN/GA.
  • American Heart Association BLS (BLS-CPR).

Responsibilities

  • Obtain medical histories when necessary.
  • Perform physical exams (within established protocol).
  • Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).
  • Order diagnostic test.
  • Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).
  • Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner, you will join a well-established hospital-employed group at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Every day you will apply your advanced clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and manage the care of patients. This involves conducting comprehensive physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless and high-quality inpatient care. To be successful in your role, you will meticulously provide direct patient care, utilizing your specialized training and skills to assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients under physician supervision. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical proficiency and a compassionate approach, ensuring comprehensive care coordination and optimal patient outcomes within your scope of practice.
