Job summary

CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Ringgold, GA, is seeking an Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join an established hospital-employed group. You will provide comprehensive patient care, perform exams, order tests, and develop treatment plans for hospitalized patients under physician supervision.

Requirements include an MSN, 3–5 years of acute care nursing, 1–3 years NP experience, RN licensure in TN/GA, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing studies is required.
• 3–5 years of clinical nursing in an acute care setting.
• 1–3 years’ NP experience in acute or primary care.
• RN license in TN/GA.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care for hospitalized orthopedic patients.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients under physician supervision.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and health-care teams for seamless care.
• Promote best-practice care and patient education.

As our Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner, you will join a well-established hospital-employed group at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Ringgold, GA. Every day you will apply your advanced clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and manage the care of patients. This involves conducting comprehensive physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless and high-quality inpatient care. To be successful in your role, you will meticulously provide direct patient care, utilizing your specialized training and skills to assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients under physician supervision. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical proficiency and a compassionate approach, ensuring comprehensive care coordination and optimal patient outcomes within your scope of practice.

• Obtain medical histories when necessary.
• Perform physical exams (within established protocol).
• Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).
• Order diagnostic test.
• Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).
• Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.

Job Requirements

Required

• Master’s degree in nursing studies
• 3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting required.
• 1-3 years previous experience as a NP in an acute or primary care setting or equivalent RN experience
• Licensed as an RN in the state of TN/GA
• American Heart Association BLS (BLS-CPR)
