Memorial Hospital - Chattanooga is seeking an Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join a well-established hospital-employed group in Chattanooga, TN. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive patient care within an academic hospital framework and regional network, working alongside physicians to ensure high-quality inpatient services.

You will apply advanced clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients, performing exams, ordering tests, and coordinating care

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing studies.
• 3–5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting.
• 1–3 years NP experience in acute or primary care (or RN experience).
• RN license in TN/GA.
• American Heart Association BLS (BLS-CPR).

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical exams and manage inpatient care.
• Diagnose, treat, and monitor chronic diseases within protocols.
• Order tests and interpret results to guide treatment.
• Educate patients on lifestyle changes and coordinate care with physicians.

As our Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner, you will join a well-established hospital-employed group at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Every day you will apply your advanced clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and manage the care of patients. This involves conducting comprehensive physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless and high-quality inpatient care.To be successful in your role, you will meticulously provide direct patient care, utilizing your specialized training and skills to assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients under physician supervision. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical proficiency and a compassionate approach, ensuring comprehensive care coordination and optimal patient outcomes within your scope of practice.

• Obtain medical histories when necessary.
• Perform physical exams (within established protocol).
• Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).
• Order diagnostic test.
• Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).
• Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.

Required

• Master’s degree in nursing studies
• 3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting required.
• 1-3 years previous experience as a NP in an acute or primary care setting or equivalent RN experience
• Licensed as an RN in the state of TN/GA
• American Heart Association BLS (BLS-CPR)
