Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to join the Orthopedic Surgery team in North Carolina. This PRN role supports a multidisciplinary team and offers location and hours negotiable.

The PA/NP will conduct comprehensive examinations, order and interpret labs, and contribute to patient care in medical and surgical settings. Requirements include NC licensure, NCCPA or NP certification, BLS, and DEA/DPS registration where applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, NCCPA certification for PA path.
• Current North Carolina Board of Nursing RN/NP license for NP path.
• BLS certification required to start.
• DEA and DPS registrations required to start.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient examinations and evaluations in medical/surgical settings.
• Collaborate with medical team for effective team-based care.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients and prep them for tests and procedures.
• Perform procedures per department guidelines.
• Participate in basic science and clinical research projects.
• Precept students and medical learners when possible.
• Uphold Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist missions, values, and culture.
• Perform other related duties incidental to work.
