Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join NT4 on a 41-bed unit, covering orthopedic, urology, trauma, and gynecology cases. The role includes comprehensive patient care, initial assessment, care planning, and close collaboration with physicians and nursing staff.

The successful candidate will hold an RN license with BLS and a nursing diploma or associate degree. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for external applicants with 1+ years of experience and a 3-year commitment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Licensed RN in the applicable state (Illinois/Des Moines area listing suggests IL-based Carle Health).
• Education: Nursing Diploma or an Associate’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care to support the healthcare team.
• Completes initial assessment on admission and develops a care plan aligned with patient and family needs.
• Implements plan of care, nursing interventions and patient care procedures.
• Modifies plan of care to ensure safety for patients and staff.
• Communicates with others to resolve issues and provides feedback for professional development.
• Assesses ortho and medical/surgical patients each shift and educates on wound care and mobility.
• Coordinate with physicians and surgeons on care of ortho and medical/surgical patients.
• Delegate and monitor interventions of HCT staff and set up traction as needed.
• Manage wound appliances and urological devices as required.
