Job summary

UVM Health - Central Vermont Medical Center is seeking a nurse to join an orthopedic care team that supports both surgical and non-surgical patients. You will work closely with orthopedic surgeons and advanced practice providers, helping patients regain mobility and quality of life through hands-on care, education, and coordination.

Qualified candidates have a current Vermont RN license (or compact licensure), 1–3 years of hospital or office nursing, and orthopedic exposure such as casting,

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure recognized by Vermont required.
• One to three years hospital or office nursing experience preferred; direct experience given priority.
• Orthopedic experience with direct patient care including scheduling, casting/splinting, wound care preferred.
• Oversee all clinical staff callouts and maintain professional, calm communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on nursing care on the orthopedic team and support surgeons and APPs.
• Educate patients and coordinate care across surgical and non-surgical pathways.
• Foster strong patient relationships in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Contribute to a culture that emphasizes safety, mobility, and quality of life.
