Job summary

Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group in Danbury, CT, is seeking a full-time X-Ray Technologist to perform radiographic imaging to aid diagnosis. You will work with physicians to ensure high-quality images while following safety protocols.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe workspace, assisting patients, minimizing radiation exposure, and documenting imaging procedures. Requires ARRT certification and NY/CT licensure.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in applied radiologic science.
• Licensed and Registered in NY and/or CT; ARRT certification.
• Knowledge of radiographic equipment and radiation safety.
• Patient transfers and positioning techniques.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
• Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
• Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.
• Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
