Job summary

Barbour Orthopaedics & Spine in Macon, GA seeks an experienced Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic team. The PA will work as an extension of the physician, performing comprehensive evaluations, coordinating treatment plans, and providing pre- and post-operative care.

This role requires NCCPA certification, a GA PA license, and at least two years in orthopedics, urgent care, or sports medicine. No call and no weekends.

Qualifications

• PA program graduate and NCCPA certified.
• Active Georgia PA license.
• 2+ years in orthopaedics, urgent care, or sports medicine preferred.
• GA state licensure required at time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations, histories, and physicals.
• Collaborate with supervising orthopedic physicians to form treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and review imaging and labs.
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care and education.
• Assist surgeons in the operating room as first assist.
• Perform procedures like joint injections, wound care, casting, splinting, suturing.
• Document encounters in the EMR accurately and timely.
• Coordinate patient education and care planning.
