Job summary

AP Health in Fort Lauderdale, FL seeks a highly experienced Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic surgical team. This is a strictly surgical role with no clinic time, focusing on first assisting in the operating room.

The candidate will have 2+ years as a surgical first assistant in orthopedics, NCCPA certification, Florida license (relocation assistance), and active BLS/ACLS, with strong commitment to patient-centered care and team collaboration, plus competitive benefits and ESOP

Responsibilities

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room.

• Suturing and retracting tissue layers as needed.
• Assist intra-operatively and perform patient histories and exams.
• On-call rotations as required.

We partner with facilities to offer service line coverage with highly trained and knowledgeable Advanced Practice Providers to first assist in surgery.

AP Health is seeking a highly experienced Physician Assistant to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A successful candidate would have at least 2+ years of experience in Orthopedic surgery. This job is strictly a surgical only position with no clinic time. This is an exciting opportunity to join a distinguished team that delivers top tier care.

This is NOT a travel, locum, placement, or per diem position. AP Health is not a staffing company.

What will you do:

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room


• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon


• Suturing and retracting of all tissue layers


• Assists in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned


• Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations


• Rotating on-call responsibilities

What do you need:

• 2+ years experience functioning as a surgical first assist in Orthopedic surgery


• Current FL State License *Will help obtain if relocating


• Board certified by NCCPA


• Active BLS and ACLS
