Job summary

AP Health in the greater Southlake, TX area seeks a highly experienced Physician Assistant to join our surgical team. This is a strictly surgical-only role with no clinic time, focusing on orthopedic and spine procedures in a fast-paced operating room.

We partner with facilities to offer service line coverage with highly trained and knowledgeable Advanced Practice Providers to first assist in surgery.

AP Health is seeking a highly experienced Physician Assistant to join our team in the greater Southlake, TX area. A successful candidate would have at least 2+ years of experience in orthopedic and/or spine surgery. This job is strictly a surgical only position with no clinic time. This is NOT a travel, locum, placement, or per diem position. AP Health is not a staffing company.

What will you do:

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon
• Suturing and retracting of all tissue layers
• Assists in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
• Rotating on-call responsibilities

What do you need:

• 2+ years experience functioning as a surgical first assist in orthopedic surgery
• Current Texas State License
• Board certified by NCCPA
• Active BLS and ACLS
