Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking an Orthopedic Surgery Support Nurse to coordinate patient care from pre‑op through post‑op, providing expert age‑specific nursing care and documenting responses to treatment.
This outpatient role emphasizes educating patients and families about procedures, recovery, and ongoing care. BSN preferred and all RNs must enroll/complete BSN within five years; strong communication and leadership are essential.
Clin I, Clin II, Clin III: Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state.
Clin I, Clin II, Clin III: Diploma or Associate’s Degree from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by the state board of nursing.
All RNs without a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) must enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of their start date and complete the program within five years unless grandfathered under previous requirements.
Practice within the boundaries of Virginia nursing regulations, guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nursing and established national and institutional standards.
Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): organizes work and delegates to and supervises others (RN’s, LPN’s, Care Partners, Unit Secretaries, etc.) in carrying out assignments.
