Job summary

The CORE Institute in Flagstaff, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support orthopedic care teams. You will room patients, document vitals, review intake paperwork, and assist with procedures and imaging as part of a high-volume clinic.

You’ll coordinate with providers, manage EMR data entry, and help ensure timely prescriptions and forms. A CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA credential or equivalent training is required, along with BLS and state-appropriate certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a formal Medical Assistant training program or CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certification.
• 1–2 years of experience in orthopedics, spine surgery, or pain management preferred.
• Must pass MA competency exam within six months.
• Active MA certification with proof of current membership (AMT/AAMA/NCMA/NCCT) per state regulations.
• Experience with medical office procedures, insurance, EMR and scheduling software.
• BLS certification required.
• High school diploma/GED and MA program graduation.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates communication between patient and provider during care.
• Prepare patient for visit: rooming, vitals, intake docs, imaging, injections.
• Assist with PREP of prescriptions and patient forms; complete data entry in EMR.
• Complete tasks for company initiatives (PROs, QPPs, etc.).
• Maintain exam rooms; restock and clean rooms daily.
• Monitor biohazard and sharps containers; replace as needed.
• Respond to voicemails within 24 business hours and document actions in EMR.
• Print clinic schedules on morning of service date.
• Promote a positive patient experience.
