Job summary

The CORE Institute is seeking a Medical Assistant to support orthopedic care in a Flagstaff clinic. You will room patients, measure vitals, prepare charts, and assist providers with procedures and prescriptions while maintaining EMR documentation and HIPAA compliance.

Required MA training and appropriate certification; BLS is expected. The role emphasizes accurate data entry, patient communication, and collaboration within the care team to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in orthopedics, spine surgery, or pain management preferred.
• Graduated from formal MA training program within last 12–18 months with CMA/AMT/AAMA/CCMA/NCMA certification or grandfathered per state regulation.
• Must pass MA competency exam within 6 months of employment.
• MA certifications (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/AMT) with proof of current membership if applicable.
• Experience with office medical procedures, insurance, managed care, EMR, and scheduling software.
• Certification/ training must meet meaningful use requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• High school diploma/GED with accredited MA training program.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between patient and provider during care.
• Prepare patient for visit (rooming, vitals, intake, imaging review).
• Assist with prescriptions and completing medical forms.
• Enter data into EMR and document actions.
• Maintain HIPAA compliant environment and clean workspaces.
• Support clinic initiatives (PROs, Quality Payment Programs).
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and ready for daily schedule.
