The MA will take histories and vitals, prepare patients for exams and procedures, maintain EHR files, and assist with scheduling and coordination of tests, treatments, and surgeries. CPR certification and a patient-first mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience as a medical assistant.
• Orthopaedic environment experience is a plus.
• Strong focus on the patient experience and compassion.
• Energetic, efficient pace with dependable attendance.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing daily needs.
• CPR certification is required or trained.
• Diligent about maintaining patient privacy and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Politely escort patients from waiting room to exam room.
• Take patient histories, chief complaints, vital signs, and prep for examination.
• Review patient charts for completeness.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for procedures such as injections and X-rays.
• Administer injections and assist with dressings as directed.
• Prepare prescriptions as directed by physician.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Coordinate patient surgeries including scheduling and pre-certification.
• Respond to patient and payer inquiries by phone.
• Maintain supplies and equipment inventory.
• Maintain patient files in the EHR and document as needed.
• Participate in professional development and maintain affiliations.
