Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and APPs with patient flow, rooming, vital signs, and basic procedures across satellite offices. You will ensure efficient visits and accurate documentation in the EHR, while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Qualified candidates have a Medical Assistant certification, high school diploma, and BLS. 0-1 year of experience is preferred; ability to travel to satellite locations is required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent; an Associate Degree is preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts patient into the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and accurate room readiness.
• Ensures proper preparation for patient visits and reviews information for visits.
• Docs vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, height/weight) in the EHR accurately.
• Updates medication lists and allergies in the EHR and handles prescriptions with care.
• Provides referrals and/or consult orders in the PMS and EHR.
• Performs duties within the scope of practice and assists in transitions of care.
• Demonstrates flexibility with various work schedules and travels to satellite offices.

Education

High School Graduate/GED / Equivalent

Associate Degree’s preferred

Medical Assistant certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
