Job summary

DHR Health - RMF CLINIC in Edinburg, TX seeks a Medical Assistant to support both administrative and clinical teams. You will scribe, assist with wound care and post-operative visits, and help schedule and coordinate patient care.

Qualifications include a Medical Assistant program completion, high school/GED, BLS, and strong communication. Experience in a physician/ambulatory setting is preferred. The role requires bilingual sensitivity and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or G.E.D. certificate required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program required
• BLS required, if not on hire, within the first 30 days of employment
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues
• Good written, organizational and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to read, write and speak English, required
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physician
• Physician office experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform basic administrative medical assisting functions.
• Assist in obtaining patient history, chief complaint and vital signs as necessary.
• Schedule, coordinate, make referral appointments and monitor appointments.
• Understand and adhere to managed care policies and procedures.
• Keep rooms neat, clean and well stocked with supplies.
• Set up rooms as needed for in-office procedures.
• Assist physician with in-office procedures as needed.
• Monitor schedule to ensure medical records from other physicians or hospital are obtained prior to visits.
• Orders and keeps inventory of medical supplies and office supplies as needed.
• Meet with patients to present surgical orders and explain post op care.
