Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support administrative and clinical teams in a busy practice. You will perform a mix of clerical and clinical duties to keep the department compliant with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, scribing, wound care, post-operative visits, scheduling, and coordinating with patients, pharmacies and other offices. Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED preferred.
• Completion of Medical Assistant Program required.
• BLS certification required, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic administrative medical assisting functions.
• Assist in obtaining patient history, chief complaint and vital signs as necessary.
• Schedule, coordinate and monitor appointments.
• Understand and adhere to managed care policies and procedures.
