Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX seeks an experienced Medical Assistant to support administrative and clinical tasks in a busy practice. The role includes taking vital signs, scribing, wound care, patient scheduling and direct support to providers.

Qualified candidates will have completed a Medical Assistant program, hold a BLS certification or obtain it within 90 days, and be bilingual in English/Spanish. Travel within sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assistant Program required.
• BLS certification required, or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Two years’ experience in a busy physician office, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic administrative medical assisting functions
• Assist in obtaining patient history, chief complaint and vital signs as necessary
• Schedule, coordinate and monitor appointments
• Understand and adhere to managed care policies and procedures
• Keep rooms neat, clean and well stocked with supplies
• Assist physician with in office procedures as needed
• Answer and direct all phone calls appropriately
• Maintain patient files and process specimens
