Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Bilingual sensitivity to cultural needs; good communication skills.
• Strong written, organizational and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; healthcare environment experience recommended.
• Experience with EMR systems and physician office workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic administrative medical assisting functions.
• Obtain patient history, chief complaint, and vital signs as necessary.
• Schedule, coordinate, refer appointments, and monitor schedule.
• Assist physician with in-office procedures and wound care.
• Maintain patient records, insurance verification and billing prep.
• Manage room setup, supplies, and inventory; scribe as needed.
• Register patients and assist with immunizations and medications.
