Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire if not on hire.
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Physician office experience is preferred.
• Two (2) years experience in a busy physician office, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic administrative medical assisting functions.
• Assist in obtaining patient history, chief complaint, and vital signs as necessary.
• Schedule, coordinate, make referral appointments, and monitor appointments.
• Understand and adhere to managed care policies and procedures.
• Keep rooms neat, clean, and well stocked with supplies.
• Set up rooms as needed for in-office procedures.
• Assist physician with in-office procedures as needed.
• Monitor schedule to ensure medical records are obtained prior to visits.
• Orders and keeps inventory of all medical and injectable supplies; order office supplies as needed.
• Meets with patients to present surgical orders and explain post-op care.
