Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of medical assistant training course accredited by the Bureau of Private Post secondary and Vocational Education or CAAHEP.
• Prior experience as a certified medical assistant preferred
• Current BLS or within six months of hire
• Attempt National Certification or Registry as Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) within two years of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs and measurements in an age-appropriate manner.
• Conduct phlebotomy and basic laboratory testing.
• Answer phones, greet patients, schedule appointments, and complete insurance forms.
• Assist physicians during examinations, treatments, and testing.
• Administer medications and immunizations as ordered.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards.
• Document and communicate patient information and discharge instructions.
• Stock supplies and manage patient records.
