Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Med Assistant II for the Orthopedic Trauma Physicians practice in Pennington, NJ. This full-time day shift role prepares patients for examinations, performs routine tests, and supports both clinical and clerical processes to ensure efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities include room preparation, phlebotomy support, vital signs, and documentation in the EMR. The position requires a post-secondary medical assisting program, AHA BLS, and strong patient communication

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• Current certification from AAMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA or AMT or equivalent body must be maintained.
• BLS/CPR from AHA required; non-licensed staff must obtain before orientation end.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams: take vitals, history, and blood pressure.
• Assist physicians and staff; prepare rooms and equipment; manage supplies.
• Perform clerical duties: registration, scheduling, and medical records entry.
• Record chart data in EMR and coordinate patient education and referrals.
• Admin duties including discharge paperwork, insurance eligibility, and front office tasks.
