Job summary

Middlesex Orthopedic & Spine Associates in Middletown, CT seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to join our growing orthopedic practice. You will support clinical operations, assist providers with examinations and procedures, and help maintain patient flow and care quality.

The role emphasizes patient interaction, accurate record-keeping, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team across satellite offices. Excellent growth opportunities and a supportive environment are offered.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems.
  • Orthopedic and/or casting experience preferred.
  • MA certification preferred or completion of a CAAHEP/ABHES-accredited program.
  • Excellent interpersonal and patient-facing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Travel between satellite offices required.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, prepare and stock supplies; assist with daily clinic operations.
  • Verify patient information, medical history, medications and allergies.
  • Prepare patients for examination and coordinate with EHR, radiology and service teams.
  • Maintain accurate notes, patient confidentiality and dignity.
  • Assist with casting, dressings and DME as ordered.
  • Prepare injectable medications and assist with US-guided procedures as needed.
  • Order and maintain clinic equipment and manage orthopedic supplies.
  • Support front desk during check-in/out and coordinate with providers.
