Qualifications

• Certification from an Accredited Medical Assistant program or prior training and experience.
• High school Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Experience as Medical Assistant or Medical Secretary preferred.
• Experience working in an orthopaedic practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical scheduling and patient flow.
• Obtain authorizations for tests and surgeries and manage scheduling.
• Prepare paperwork, x-rays, and other documents for procedures.
• Contact outside facilities and coordinate with case managers.
• Pre-authorize prescriptions and manage post‑op scheduling.
• Document information accurately in the medical record.
