Job summary

Ortho OIC Orthopaedic Immediate Care in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care from intake through discharge in a fast-paced orthopaedic immediate care setting.

The role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with in-office procedures, preparing and sanitizing rooms, and educating patients on care and post-visit instructions. 1+ year in orthopaedics or urgent care is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients; obtain vital signs, chief complaint, and relevant medical history.
• Apply and remove casts, splints, braces, and other immobilization devices as directed by providers.
• Assist providers during in-office procedures (fracture reductions, joint aspirations/injections).
• Set up and break down rooms; sterilize and stock instruments and supplies.
• Educate patients on cast care, activity restrictions, and home care instructions.
