Job summary

OrthoAtlanta, with a premier orthopedic and sports medicine practice, seeks an Orthopedic Medical Assistant to support patient care on-site in Newnan, GA. You will escort patients, gather registration data, and assist with procedures while maintaining privacy and a patient-first approach.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited CNA, MA, or Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience).
• 1+ year of medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with dressing/undressing to ensure comfort and privacy.
• Review patient registration details and complete EMR intake documentation accurately.
• Prepare surgical orders, coordinate labs and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results.
• Manage patient callbacks, prescriptions, referrals, and respond to physician queues.
• Demonstrate proper fitting and use of durable medical equipment (DME) as needed.

What You'll Do

As an Orthopedic Medical Assistant at OrthoAtlanta, you'll:

• Guiding Patients: Escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing/undressing, and ensure comfort and privacy
• Gathering Information: Accurately review patient registration details, collect necessary forms, and complete EMR intake documentation
• Coordinating Care: Prepare surgical orders, schedule lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and manage medical clearances for surgeries
• Communication and Follow-Up: Manage patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals; monitor and respond to physician queues
• DME Support: Demonstrate proper fitting and usage of durable medical equipment (DME) like braces and soft goods when needed

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent experience)
• 1+ year of medical office experience preferred
• Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred)
