Job summary

Good Shepherd Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager for the Ortho/Med Surg and Observation units. You will lead nursing practice standards, oversee staffing, budgets, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

The role requires a BSN (Master's preferred) and RN licensure in Illinois, with progressive management experience. Responsibilities include scheduling, department coordination, team development, CQI, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

• Appropriate clinical skills and basic management experience.
• Good communication and team-building abilities.
• Current licensure in Illinois; CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements & evaluates standards of nursing practice to assure quality care.
• Plans, implements & monitors work schedules according to policy.
• Ensures availability of supplies & equipment; coordinates department services.
• Participates in case management to facilitate quality patient outcomes.
• Collaborates with care coordinators and team members to resolve issues.
• Identifies needs and ensures services meet patient and staff needs.
• Prepares, administers & monitors the department budget; adjusts staffing.
• Provides a safe environment; monitors infection control and regulatory guidelines.
• Develops staffing plans; interviews and hires new staff; tracks productivity.
• Conducts performance evaluations and provides coaching and discipline as needed.
• Promotes CQI and staff development; mentors and role-models staff behaviors.
