Job summary

Corewell Health in Troy is seeking a dedicated Observer for the Med Surg Care Unit (6W) to support patient safety and care. You will assist with constant observation, transport patients, and perform clerical duties, under RN supervision, ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR.

The role is full-time, day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a 36-hour weekly schedule and every third weekend. Hospital experience and CNA credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS required within 30 days of hire.
• Current CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients according to the plan of care and unit policy under RN direction.
• Safely transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher and document services.
• Act as an Observer for patients requiring constant observation, in person or via remote monitoring.
• Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to support unit operations.
• Document care provided in the electronic medical record.
