Job summary

OrthoNC is seeking a part-time Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Advanced Practice Provider team, working alongside a joint surgeon in a collaborative, high-volume orthopedic practice. This role covers operative and non-operative patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will grow clinical and surgical experience, have Monday–Friday daytime hours with minimal call, and enjoy benefits including PTO, 401(k) with match, CME allowance, and flexible spending

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited PA or NP program.
• Licensed as a PA or NP in North Carolina.
• Board certification.
• Orthopedic or musculoskeletal clinic experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care in both clinical and surgical settings
• Collaborate closely with physicians, fellow APPs, and the broader clinical team
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients independently and under physician supervision
• Interpret diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans
• Educate patients on treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations
• Gain hands-on experience treating both acute and chronic orthopedic conditions
