Job summary

OrthoArizona is seeking a Certified Professional Coder to join our orthopedic-focused team. You will read operative notes, apply CPT and ICD-10 codes, and collaborate with providers on complex cases to ensure accurate, compliant claims.

The role involves coding daily visits, auditing documentation, and training clinicians on documentation requirements while upholding HIPAA and government regulations. Our benefits package supports work-life balance and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, billing and coding regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of health insurance plans and benefits.
• Advanced knowledge of CPT and ICD-10.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand Operative and/or Procedure notes.
• Apply CPT and ICD-10 codes to Operative reports.
• Communicate with providers regarding complex/unusual cases.
• Code all daily office visits and ensure accuracy.
• Review and understand billing/coding regulations and compliance.
• Audit charts periodically and train staff on documentation requirements.
• Append modifiers as needed to claims and verify ABNs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and respond to messages promptly.
