Job summary

Summit Orthopedics seeks an Orthopedic Clinical Assistant (OCA) in the Twin Cities area to support physicians in an outpatient orthopedic setting. The role emphasizes patient flow, rooming, medical history capture, and coordination of care within a clinic team.

This full-time position offers a 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM schedule (Mon–Fri) with potential float across Summit locations and outreach sites, and participation in a gap-year OCA program for students seeking hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• High School (required).
• 6 months of related clinical or healthcare experience (preferred).
• Ability to give a one-year full time commitment (rotations starting this fall). (required).
• Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Medicine, Pre-Physician's Assistant, Nursing or any Health-Related field and going into a gap year.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient flow, room patients and obtain and record medical histories and prepare patient for evaluation and/or treatment.
• Provide clinical support under supervision to physicians and other providers.
• Assist with casting, splinting, and dispensing of DME as directed by provider.
• Update patient records and coordinate follow-up appointments.
• Perform administrative duties including chart management and paperwork.
