Summit Orthopedics is hiring a full-time Orthopedic Clinical Assistant (OCA) to support physicians in a Twin Cities outpatient setting. This role offers gap year students hands-on clinical experience in a collaborative orthopedic team, with opportunities to learn from physicians and shadow other areas of the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field (Pre-Medicine, Nursing, etc.).
• 1 year full-time commitment required (rotations starting this fall).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 6 months related clinical healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient flow and prepare patients for evaluation.
• Prepare instruments and stock exam/procedure rooms between appointments.
• Assist with casting, splinting, suture removal, and DME fitting as directed by provider.
• Provide standardized patient education instructions verbally or in writing.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and verify insurance and demographics.
• Manage patient charts and related paperwork; handle medical records and reports.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Health-Related Field
