Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners in Peabody, MA is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Cast Room Technician to support outpatient casting and splinting procedures. The role involves applying and adjusting casts, educating patients, and assisting with clinical procedures under physician orders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Cast room/medical office experience is a plus but not required.
• Familiar with HIPAA, insurance regulations and safety procedures.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office protocols.
• Experience with EMR systems and MS Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cast, brace and splint patients in outpatient setting per orders.
• Apply, remove and adjust casts and splints; fit prefabricated devices.
• Assess comfort, assist with procedures, and remove sutures as needed.
• Provide wound care and dressings; assist with fracture reductions.
• Educate patients on care of casts and mobility aids.
• Maintain cast room inventory and train new staff.
