Job summary

Dartmouth Health's Orthopaedic Clinic seeks an Orthopaedic Technician (Cast Tech) to support patients in ambulatory, inpatient, and ER settings. You will apply and adjust fiberglass casts, braces, and splints under supervision and assist physicians during minor procedures.

The role emphasizes teaching patients proper cast care, mentoring colleagues, and maintaining supplies and equipment in a fast-paced environment. A NH license/registration is required.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills required.
• Ability to read and understand medical terminology.
• One (1) year of previous health care related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies and adjusts fiberglass casts, braces, and/or splints.
• Educates patients on care and usage of casts.
• Trains others on proper casting techniques.
• Provides assistance to the physician during minor procedures.
• Assists provider in cleansing wounds and applying surgical dressings.
• Maintains inventory and security of orthopaedic devices and supplies.
