Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking an Athletic Trainer/Orthopedic Technologist to provide professional health care and clinical support within the orthopedic trauma practice under clinical leadership.

You will perform advanced orthopedic procedures, assist in outpatient and inpatient settings, and manage wound care while educating patients on durable medical equipment (DME). The role emphasizes multitasking, attention to detail, and a professional approach to patient care in a dynamic cast room.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training required (CAATE accredited).
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. BOC certification.
• NBCOT certification (eligible or application in process). Casting certification required or needs to obtain within six months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced orthopedic procedures such as FRC casting and plaster splinting, in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Wound care management including pin removal, staple/suture removal, wound vacuum management, and dressing changes.
• Fit and educate patients on durable medical equipment (DME) and maintain professional patient care in a fast-paced cast room environment.
