Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL seeks an Orthopedic Assistant to support physicians and nurses in patient care. You will assist with casts, splints, X-ray coordination, wound care, and family education, while maintaining supplies and EMR documentation.

You will work closely with the orthopedic team, participate in routine procedures, and help ensure high-quality patient care in a busy setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Orthopedic Technology Program (ROT) or Medical Assistant/EMT program, or has six months of patient care experience.
• BLS/CPR required per American Heart Association standards.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced orthopedic setting with a focus on patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses in orthopedic patient care.
• Maintain stock of orthopedic equipment and supplies.
• Educate patients and families on injuries, casts, splints, and devices.
• Order X-Rays based on treatment plans and document in EMR.
• Obtain patient vitals and assist with procedures and wound care.
