Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform patient assessments, coordinate care, and support providers across office locations. The role includes triaging calls, vital signs, documentation, and medication reconciliation, while ensuring compliance with policies and safety standards.

The candidate will educate patients, assist with specialty care modalities, monitor high-risk care, and collaborate with teams. A Medical Assistant program graduate with certifications is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills needed to communicate with individuals and groups.
• Mandatory OSHA training annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
• Knowledge of medical office policies and procedures from 3–5 years in health care.
• Previous physician clinic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triages calls, schedules daily urgent/add-ons, relays test results and coordinates consults.
• Greets patients, records vital signs, maintains patient records, reconciles medications and handles refills.
• Assists the provider with examinations and procedures.
• Prepares and cleans the patient area, sets up equipment and disposes of contaminated supplies.
