Job summary

BAS HealthCare in Manchester, CT seeks Advanced Practitioners in Orthopaedic Surgery to join a large, collaborative APP-led team across nine orthopaedic surgeons. Open to Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners with orthopaedic experience, you’ll assume first-assist duties in the OR and manage pre- and post-operative care.

You’ll work with ED and inpatient consults, develop education and treatment plans, and pursue CME time off with a CME budget, licensure reimbursement, and

Responsibilities

• Join a collaborative APP-led orthopaedic team with autonomy and physician partnership.
• Work with 4 APPs and 9 orthopaedic surgeons across inpatient orthopaedics.
• Handle ED and inpatient orthopaedic consults and pre-/post-operative planning.
• Develop treatment plans and refer to specialists as needed.
• Participate in rotating shifts; night shifts include call from home with differential pay.

Job Details:

• Join a highly collaborative, APP-led orthopaedic team with meaningful autonomy and strong physician partnership


• Work alongside 4 experienced APPs supporting 9 orthopaedic surgeons across the full spectrum of orthopaedic inpatient care


• Open to Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners with orthopaedic experience


• First-assist in the OR and manage pre- and post-operative care


• Handle ED and inpatient orthopaedic consults


• Gain diverse exposure to joint arthroplasty, sports medicine, trauma, hand, and spine cases


• Full-time schedule with rotating shifts; night shifts are call from home with premium differentials offered


• Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans


• Develop plans for further evaluation of patient health needs including referrals to specialists and care team members


• Provide treatment for problems within scope of practice and identify issues requiring physician referral


• Requires unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License or eligibility


• Must be a certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner


• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Orthopaedic Surgery required
