Hartford HealthCare in Manchester, CT is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join an APP-led orthopaedic team providing inpatient care across joint arthroplasty, sports medicine, trauma, hand and spine with strong physician partnerships.

The role offers autonomy with rotating shifts; night-call from home and premium differentials. CT licensure and board eligibility required; 2+ years of orthopaedic surgery experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
• Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• 2+ years’ experience in Orthopaedic Surgery

Responsibilities

• Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
• Develop plans for further evaluation and referrals in coordination with physicians and care team.

Schedule: Full-time, rotating with night shifts being call from home. Premium differentials offered.

Physician Assistants And Nurse Practitioner Role Scope

Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.

In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.

Advanced Practitioners provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.
