Job summary

The University of Iowa College of Dentistry seeks a dedicated Support Services Manager for Orthodontics to oversee daily clinical operations, staffing, scheduling, and patient flow in a busy academic clinic. You will supervise staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with faculty and students to support education and patient care.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, CODA/COA/EFDA credentials, radiography certification, and extensive experience with four-handed

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent plus relevant experience.
• CODA-accredited dental assisting program or four-handed dentistry experience.
• COA exam within six months of hire; EFDA Level 1 within six months.
• Iowa radiography certificate (QDA) required; registration to practice dental assistant.
• Five years of four-handed dentistry experience beyond education.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily clinical operations, staffing, scheduling, and patient flow.
• Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate clinical staff for quality care.
• Manage clinic resources, equipment, supplies, and lab workflows.
• Ensure HIPAA, OSHA, CODA compliance and safety standards.
• Collaborate with faculty, students, residents, and admin partners.
• Monitor productivity and implement process improvements.
