Job summary

The University of Iowa College of Dentistry seeks a Support Services Manager for the Department of Orthodontics to coordinate daily clinical operations and support services in a busy academic clinic. You will lead staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and ensure high quality care in a compliant environment.

Responsibilities include training staff, managing resources, and collaborating with faculty to enhance education, patient satisfaction, and department goals.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have CODA-accredited dental assisting credentials or equivalent experience.
• Requires DANB certification and COA/EFDA readiness within six months of hire.
• Iowa Board registration to practice and radiography certification are required.
• Minimum five years of dental assisting in a four-handed method beyond education.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical operations, staffing, scheduling, and patient flow.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate clinical staff for quality patient care.
• Manage clinic resources, equipment, and lab workflows.
• Ensure HIPAA, OSHA, CODA compliance and safety standards.
• Collaborate with faculty, residents, and admin to meet goals.
• Monitor productivity and implement efficiency and financial improvements.
