Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator, Clinic Operations

Position Title Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator, Clinic Operations

The School of Dental Medicine at the University at Buffalo is seeking applications for an Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator. This position will report to the Senior Director of Clinical Affairs. This individual works closely with the implant center director to provide administrative support, patient care and to maintain the efficient effective workflow of the implant center.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for the orthodontic clinic, working closely with faculty, residents, dental assistants, front desk staff, and patients.
  • Coordinate treatment starts and support patient progression through all phases of care.
  • Monitor patient records and treatment workflows to identify and address delays, incomplete requirements, or barriers to care.
  • Patient education along with facilitating consultations, referrals, records management, and other documentation necessary for treatment progression.
  • Support workflow standardization and process improvement initiatives to enhance clinic efficiency and patient experience.
  • Assist program and clinic leadership in monitoring operational performance, patient volume, scheduling efficiency, and other clinical needs; perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Hours:

Monday – Friday

8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail, proficiency in a variety of computer applications, and the ability to effectively work with and support diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to perform extensive standing, walking, climbing, and lifting (up to 30 pounds).
  • Prior work experience in a healthcare facility.
  • Prior work experience in a dental office/clinic.

This position will never drive a university owned vehicle.

Salary Range

$45,000 - $50,000

The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
