Job summary

Alamo City Orthodontics is seeking an enthusiastic Orthodontic Registered Dental Assistant to build relationships with patients, especially children, and contribute to a welcoming practice. The role emphasizes compassionate care, team collaboration, and growth opportunities.

You will join a supportive clinical team, assisting with orthodontic procedures, records, and patient education in a modern environment focused on excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Active Texas RDA license and current BLS are required.
• Minimum 2 years RDA experience with at least 1 year in orthodontics.
• Strong chairside, four-handed dentistry, and patient communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures.
• Take digital X-rays, impressions, scans, and records.
• Bond brackets and aid with treatment procedures.
• Prepare rooms and patients for appointments.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Educate patients on orthodontic care and appliance maintenance.
• Support clinic operations and deliver excellent customer service.

What You'll Do:

As a member of our clinical team, you'll help create an outstanding experience for every patient while working alongside our orthodontists and team. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting the orthodontist during orthodontic procedures
• Taking digital X-rays, impressions, scans, and orthodontic records
• Bonding brackets and assisting with orthodontic treatment procedures
• Preparing treatment rooms and patients for appointments
• Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining instruments and equipment following infection control protocols
• Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
• Educating patients on orthodontic care and appliance maintenance
• Helping keep the clinic running efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service

Required:

• Active Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License
• Current BLS certification
• At least 2 years of Registered Dental Assistant experience
• At least 1 year of orthodontic assisting experience
• Strong chairside and four-handed dentistry skills
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Positive attitude with a team-first mindset

Bonus Skills (Not Required):

• Experience with model pouring and impressions
• Open Dental software experience
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate the orthodontist's needs
