Job summary

Ideal Dental is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support clinicians and patients through the orthodontic treatment journey. You'll help create a welcoming environment, assist with procedures, manage arch-wires, take impressions and X-rays, and maintain accurate records for ongoing treatment and follow-up.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dental Assistant License.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience in orthodontic procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a smile and provide a welcoming environment.
• Assist Orthodontist with procedures and patient care.
• Unhook and tie arch-wires; bend and place arch-wires.
• Prepare for and assist with bonding and impressions.
• Take and develop x-rays; take intraoral and extraoral photos.
• Operate imaging systems and manage clinical records.
• Support patient flow and clinical readiness; inventory supplies.

What you'll do:

• Create a welcoming environment for patients, helping them feel comfortable and confident throughout their orthodontic journey.
• Support patients through complex orthodontic procedures, helping them feel informed, calm, and confident throughout their treatment experience.
• Work alongside the Orthodontist to ensure precision, efficiency, and a smooth clinical experience tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Educate patients on post-treatment care and recovery to promote healing and long-term oral health.
• Coordinate care and follow-ups, ensuring patients receive timely treatment and clear communication throughout their visit.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records to support clinical decision-making and continuity of care.
• Foster a collaborative team environment by staying proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality specialty care.
• Contribute to the success of orthodontic practice by helping manage clinical readiness, patient flow, and operational support.
