Job summary

Ideal Dental is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our growing team in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. You will support the orthodontist and clinical staff, ensuring smooth treatment flow and high-quality care for every patient.

Responsibilities include assisting with orthodontic procedures, taking impressions and x-rays, and educating patients on post-treatment care. We value teamwork, compassion, and patient comfort while delivering exceptional orthodontic services.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience assisting orthodontic procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Assist Orthodontist during procedures and ensure precision.
• Prepare for bonding, take impressions, and assist with x-rays.
• Maintain accurate patient records and coordinate follow-ups.
• Educate patients on post-treatment care and expectations.

What you'll do:

• Create a welcoming environment for patients, helping them feel comfortable and confident throughout their orthodontic journey.
• Support patients through complex orthodontic procedures, helping them feel informed, calm, and confident throughout their treatment experience.
• Work alongside the Orthodontist to ensure precision, efficiency, and a smooth clinical experience tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Educate patients on post-treatment care and recovery to promote healing and long-term oral health.
• Coordinate care and follow-ups, ensuring patients receive timely treatment and clear communication throughout their visit.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records to support clinical decision-making and continuity of care.
• Foster a collaborative team environment by staying proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality specialty care.
• Contribute to the success of orthodontic practice by helping manage clinical readiness, patient flow, and operational support.

• Bending and placing arch-wires
• Preparing for and assisting with bonding
• Taking impressions
• Communicating with patients and families
• Taking x-rays and developing x-rays
• Taking intraoral and extraoral photographs
• Utilizing the computer imaging system
• Pouring up models
• Inventorying supplies

What do you need to have to be a part of our team?

• Active Registered Dental Assistant License
• Current CPR certification
