Job summary

Ideal Dental seeks an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support clinicians and patients throughout the orthodontic treatment journey. You will help create a welcoming environment and contribute to a smooth, patient-centered experience.

You must hold an active Registered Dental Assistant license, current CPR, and have at least 1 year of orthodontic experience; travel within assigned areas is required. We offer a monthly bonus, medical benefits, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of orthodontic experience is required.
• Must be willing to travel within assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients with a friendly demeanor and guiding them through their orthodontic journey.
• Assist Orthodontist with procedures to ensure precision and efficiency.
• Untie and tie arch-wires, and bend/place arch-wires as needed.
• Fit bands and assist with bonding and impressions.
• Take x-rays and develop them as part of treatment records.
• Capture intraoral and extraoral photographs and utilize imaging systems.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain supply levels.
• Support patient education on post-treatment care and long-term oral health.

What You'll Do

• Create a welcoming environment for patients, helping them feel comfortable and confident throughout their orthodontic journey.
• Support patients through complex orthodontic procedures, helping them feel informed, calm, and confident throughout their treatment experience.
• Work alongside the Orthodontist to ensure precision, efficiency, and a smooth clinical experience tailored to each patient’s needs.
• Educate patients on post‑treatment care and recovery to promote healing and long‑term oral health.
• Coordinate care and follow‑ups, ensuring patients receive timely treatment and clear communication throughout their visit.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records to support clinical decision‑making and continuity of care.
• Foster a collaborative team environment by staying proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering high‑quality specialty care.
• Contribute to the success of orthodontic practice by helping manage clinical readiness, patient flow, and operational support.
