Job summary

Triad Orthodontics in Danville, VA, is seeking a part-time Orthodontic Assistant to join a friendly, patient-focused team. You will work chair-side with the orthodontist, perform patient care, take molds, change rubber bands and braces, and assist with Invisalign-related tasks.

No prior experience is required, but a Dental Assistant certification is needed; X-ray certification is a plus. This on-site role offers Monday and Tuesday schedules with starting pay around $18.00 per hour, depending on

Responsibilities

• Work chair-side with Orthodontist and provide patient care.
• Prepare and take patient molds.
• Change rubber bands, wires, and brackets.
• Assist with Invisalign-related tasks.
• Take and process dental radiographs.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on oral hygiene.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment.
• Provide postoperative instructions.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Work chair-side with Orthodontist, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
• Preparing and taking patient molds
• Changing out rubber bands, wires, and brackets
• Adjusting fit of clear aligners such as Invisalign
• Takeand processdental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepareand sterilizeinstruments and equipment
• Teachpatients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
• Helppatients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
