Job summary

Kids Dental Brands in Danville, VA is seeking a part-time Orthodontic Assistant. You will work chair-side with the orthodontist, assist with imaging, lab duties, and patient education in a kid-friendly environment.

The role requires Dental Assistant certification and may include x-ray certification. Prior experience is not required, and certification credentials influence compensation. This is an on-site position with weekdays, priority on Monday and Tuesday shifts.

Qualifications

• CDA or RDA certification is required.
• No experience required, but dental assistant certification is necessary.
• Part-time schedule: on-site Mondays and Tuesdays.

Responsibilities

• Work chair-side with Orthodontist, perform patient care and basic lab duties.
• Prepare and take patient molds.
• Change rubber bands, wires and brackets as directed.
• Adjust fit of clear aligners such as Invisalign.
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Teach patients proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Work chair-side with Orthodontist, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
• Preparing and taking patient molds
• Changing out rubber bands, wires, and brackets
• Adjusting fit of clear aligners such as Invisalign
• Takeand processdental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepareand sterilizeinstruments and equipment
• Teachpatients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
• Helppatients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
